In your endo

danger @ 9:07 pm

The sexual innuendo page at uncyclopedia is a work of giggling in the office inducing genius.

Sexual innuendo is a hard topic to stay on top of. As a humour tool, it stands erect in the English language. While there are no hard and fast rules as to what constitutes sexual innuendo, there have been many mass debates on the topic, and now the general principles at the root of the topic are firm and well-rounded. However, full penetration of the subject requires that the reader take a long, hard look at the target and be a cunning linguist in order to avoid limp phrases and imbibe the phrase with a large handfull of meanings

Video: Skydiver survives 12,000 ft fall to earth with failed parachutes

danger @ 12:27 am
It shows him plummeting 12,000ft to earth after both his parachutes failed, saying goodbye to the world… and hitting the ground with a sickening thud at 80mph.

Michael’s friend, who jumped from the same plane, also filmed the whole event. He found his pal bleeding and unconscious - but alive.

Breaks the rule about people getting hurt, but in a good he only got a punctured lung and broken ankle kind of way.

Teen’s heart stops beating for 4 days, restarts

danger @ 12:03 pm
Daniel Walker was on his final lap jogging in his high school gym class when he collapsed, his flawed heart giving out on him.

More than four days later, his heart at a standstill, kept alive by a bypass machine, it began beating again. The 17-year-old’s parents called it divine intervention. His physicians were no less amazed.

Further proof that if God exists he’s an asshole. Why save one kid when he could save them all. Jackass. Full story.

HMV UK offer PS3 only as part of a PSP Bundle

dodger @ 8:25 pm

Not sure exactly how true this is. Any UK readers out there confirm or deny this for us?

British gamers trying to order a PlayStation 3 from HMV were in for something of a shock today. The high street chain e-mailed customers to let them know it has opened up preorders for its PS3 as part of a bundle that includes a PlayStation Portable and two PSP games: Killzone: Liberation and Gangs of London.

The total price of the HMV bundle comes to £674.99 (approximately $1,328), almost £250 (~$490) more than the console itself. Buying games for the new console is likely to add at least another £50 (~$98) to that sum.

The Blasphemy Challenge

danger @ 4:43 am
Do you dare accept the Blasphemy Challenge? Show the world how sure you are that the Christian God doesn’t exist!

It’s simple. You record a short message damning yourself to Hell, you upload it to YouTube, and then the Rational Response Squad will send you a free The God Who Wasn’t There DVD. It’s that easy.
INSTRUCTIONS:

You may damn yourself to Hell however you would like, but somewhere in your video you must say this phrase: “I deny the Holy Spirit.”

Why? Because, according to Mark 3:29 in the Holy Bible, “Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.” Jesus will forgive you for just about anything, but he won’t forgive you for denying the existence of the Holy Spirit. Ever. This is a one-way road you’re taking here.

People are of course taking up the challenge (denying the holy spirit on youtube)…

The Amen Break

PeterR @ 11:22 pm

The most important drum-break thus far.

This six-second sample from 1969 alone is responsible for the entire musical genre - ‘jungle’, and arguably stakes a place as about as important to hip-hop as James Brown’s ‘Funky Drummer’ break.

Visually stark (boring), this informative video traces the use of the break and its incredible importance in terms of recent musical history (from NWA through jungle, to Squarepusher and investigating copyright implications - even sighting a company providing commercially available sample CDs aimed at advertisement industry, and hence, claiming the sample as its own property) and implications of its recontextualisation in cultural and commercial terms.

Six-seconds of one b-side, responsible for an entire cultural movement, The Amen Break:

Happy Australia Day.

Everyone have a bbq, go down to Bondi Beach, across to Summer Bay, look out for Madge and Harold, dodge the kangeroos and throw some boomerangs.

Oh who are we kidding. There’s only one thing anyone thinks of when they think of Australia.
