Wimbledon pays equal prize money
The Wimbledon Championships will hand women and men equal prize money for the first time at this year’s tournament.
The announcement by the All England Club on Wednesday brings it into line with other Grand Slams after criticism from officials and players.Similar to the US and Australian Opens, equal rewards will be offered across the board, from the champions down to the first-round losers in all events.

Bringing a men’s tennis Wimbledon Final down to 3 sets would be a load of bollox. They’re without doubt some of the most entertaining finals in tennis. 5 sets of great drama and skill. I think for this reason Men deserve more prize money. Its not about inequality, its about getting paid for what you’re doing. Men play more sets therefore more money is paid. Political Correctness gone mad for sure.
Look at it as a job. Women are gonna get paid the same for workin for an hour as men who are working for 2+ hours!

Globe trotting, pampered mega rich athletes having to live with the injustice of seeing other globe trotting, pampered millionaire athletes handed the same paycheque for playing a game. Truly a defining issue of our times.
Wimbledon charges the same for mens and womens games tickets, right? I know the US Open does. So really, who cares. They could always cut their costs further by skipping the mens’ games altogether and handing the winners’ prize to Roger Federer.

How about this. If it goes to 5 sets, the prize money is more than if it went to 3!! Its perfect. Mr .. or Mrs Wimbledon get on it!
