RTÉ.ie redesigns

RTE.ie has had a full redesign. About time they got rid of the clunky piece of shit, but I need to click around a bit before I decide what I think about the new one. What do you think?

Yay, Lara Croft in Ireland!
Feshti's back and this time he's counting down the top 10 movie opening scenes of all time.
Is American opinion and culture crowding out all others?
at least it’s faster - but I don’t like the layout or colours eww.

Well on a very quick glance it looks like it has been done by the same people who did the Irish rugby site, and some of the provinces.
Not saying that is a bad thing, will have to be looking for something in particular before I find out whether it works well

I just saw a picture of Amy Whinehouse on it. I’m never going back.

The main thing is that aertel is even stupider looking.
And RTE 1’s tv listings is a 404 (for a start - actually it’s riddled with them).
That’s all I ever use it for.
Why they felt the need to redesign it to look ‘genuine’ is beyond me, should have left it basic html.
That change used to annoy the crud out of me on 56k.

I refer specifically to web-based aertel pages.
As at time of writing:
http://rte.ie/aertel/171-01.html
was a 404.
(Note also the new URL restructure - that page previously was:
http://rte.ie/aertel/171.html )
