PS3 to cost more in Ireland.
A post on Sony’s Ireland website says the PS3 will launch there for 630 Euros. Thats €31 more than they said it would cost in Europe. It also says that the 20GB version of the machine will not be available in Ireland.
They have said the different price is a reflection of higher rates of taxation in Ireland than the rest of Europe, adding that previously announced European and UK prices are not affected.
Thats right Irish PS3 wannabee owners. Bend over and take it Here

Yay, Lara Croft in Ireland!
Feshti's back and this time he's counting down the top 10 movie opening scenes of all time.
Is American opinion and culture crowding out all others?
When your being outsold by something called a wii you know have a problem.

Are Sony deliberately trying to shoot themselves in the foot.
Yes, they are. But that’s corporate arrogance for you.
Sony surely expected to foist Blu-Ray on the world through the hardcore PlayStation audience, but they’ve neglected to notice significant changes in the gaming market (maybe because they think they created it single-handedly). The result will be a failure of both the PS3 and of Blu-Ray (AKA Betamax 2).
Nintendo, in contrast, saw a massive gap in the market — for people who like games but aren’t hardcore gamers, who don’t give a shite about polygon counts and whatnot, and don’t want to spend shitloads on something they’ll only use for a few minutes a day — and latched onto it incredibly successfully. I mean, I bought a DS Lite, so their strategy is obviously working.

Although the Wii has enjoyed an extremely successful launch, it’s not clear yet whether Nintendo’s gamble will prove as successful in the long run. Their release schedule is looking rather barren and most of the games already out have met with mediocre reviews (with the exception of Zelda and Wii Sports). I wonder what sales will be like when the hype dies down.
As for Sony, I think they’ve shot themselves in the foot by pricing the PS3 out of the market. From a games perspective it offers nothing over and above the Xbox 360. Not only is the console ludicrously expensive, but the games are too. Play.com have PS3 titles listed at 75 Euro - God knows what they’ll cost on the highstreet.

hope you started saving paul. 13,000 games x 85 euro a game = …. well too much. theres no major difference with the 360 games, only the elitist attitude of the dickheads paying for it. you’re a sony whore no doubt about it!
