VIP Glamour

danger @ 10:19 am

New Irish (?) blog thats popped up on the top 100 Irish blogs; VIPGlamour, which looks to be a popular celebrity gossip blog run by these professionals. They’re certainly good at the google game; with interlinked celebrity names taking up a huge amount of space on the site. It always makes you wonder though, if we removed our self imposed ban on pictures of hot guys/girls, how quickly we could expand the site…And cheapen it too.

VIP Glamour, is a fun look at celebrities, they put themselves out there to be noticed, and we do notice them! VIP Glamour is public opinion friendly, you can comment on everything here and the world can see what you think!

That’s from here. Good luck to them.

Fuck them then. You know the site is nothing more than an attempt to make money from Google ads. Highly valuable search queries - because every cunt loves celebs - plus Google ads everywhere you looks = no commitment to the content other than just getting it out there as much as possible.

I truly, honestly, despise ‘blogs’ like that.

  2. And anyway, they’re just producing the same content as all the other celeb blogs but, on first reading, without any of the wit.

Alyson Hannigan, I thought was always, much much prettier that Buffy (aka SMG), however we have to question her stylist, that is we hope that Alyson is not to blame for the fiasco that is the above photo. She does look radiant however, as usual. Lets hope we see her in more films

    Wow. Let’s hope so!! Zzzzzz.

  3. Hi there,

thanks for the wonderful review. Yes we are Irish, and we have been around since April. We are not as good at the Google game as you suggest, but thanks for the vote of confidence.

With regards to comments from twenty, of course we are here to make money, who is not?

Thank you for your comments your obviously a wonderful blogger yourself. Its great to see that you despise blogs like ours. However, you do have the option not to visit them, why not exercise that option. It is however a shame to see that you feel like this towards out blog.

    Take care.

  4. It’s a shame you couldn’t try something original, John. There are a million and one blogs out there doing what you do, most of them better and more professionally.

You’re just taking the same stories they publish. At least try and make it Irish focussed, give Blogorrah a run for its money. Seriously who in Ireland cares about this?

“60 Minutes’ Crew Remembers Ed Bradley”

But, as you say, you want to make money. I don’t think you’ll do that producing sub-standard fare to what’s already there but you might have a chance if you try and do something different - or at least try and get a foothold into a market that isn’t already completely saturated.

  5. twenty - it may not interest you, however 50% of our traffic is Irish, and they come to our website via google.ie so they must be searching for those topics. Are you saying Irish people have no interest in American Celebrities? If so, you are very mistaken!

In addition, the US market is our target audience, just because we are Irish does not mean we have to target Ireland alone.

Personally I like all things American, and so do my readers.

I have other blogs also, which have 100% no adverts, but this blog is my favorite.

I don’t generally take articles from other sites, you seem to be suggesting that is what I do, (we) -there are a few of us, we discuss celebrities, and what is happening, sure there are 100s if not thousands, if not millions of sites that discuss celebrities, but that is not the point. Why should we not write about celebrities if we wish?

I really don’t see where your concern is coming from at all. Of course I will defend my site. People who don’t like this type of site, simply stay away.

It also comes to my attention that there are a lot of Irish sites, one news site in particular (which is door to door ads BTW) that posts news stories, but where do they get them from? BBC? RTE? I am very surprised that many Irish blogs link to these sites, and even more surprised that they get high profile advertisers!

When ever we use a quote or take something from another site we always credit them!

However I refuse to discuss it further e-mail my support team if you wish to discuss it further.
    John

  6. Fair enough, John. It must be just coincidence that nearly every story on your page has appeared on:

    http://www.dlisted.com/ or http://www.thesuperficial.com/ first.

In addition, the US market is our target audience, just because we are Irish does not mean we have to target Ireland alone.

My point was that there are dozens of similar blogs doing the exact same thing you do only better.

  7. But you’re right:

People who don’t like this type of site, simply stay away.

It’s entirely up to you what you write. Carry on. I shall say no more.

  9. I’m not whoring it around looking for shitty Google ad revenue though, am I?

It might be basic, and by basic I mean completely minging, it’s a lot nicer looking than that VIP thing.

Oh, and please learn how to punctuate.
