I encourage people to vote for the documentary on Harry Clarke. This was about a great (and strange) Irish artist who's story had never been told before and it was facinating and historically important. This film somewhat makes up for the way he was treated by the government. Well done TG4.

[...] TCAL.net draws to my attention that TG4, the native Irish language television station, is now almost ten years old. Quite a feat when you consider that few people would have thought it would have lasted this long. [...]

Passion Fashion is a world beater.
And that blind date programme with the little presenter in a tux where the mammies choose who's best for their boy or girl.

Continental late night movies are one of TG4's strong points. Maybe they should show old b/w footage from the archives with an Irish voiceover and English headlines similar to those Gaelinn newsreels we used to see in cinemas until the mid-1960s. Agus sin cupla focal inniu. Slan.

The scary thing is that when I think of my favourite shows TG4 has shown over the past ten years, they are invariably foreign imports like Oz or The Wire. Isn't it a bit depressing that these should be top of mind for an Irish language station?
