All over the British press today is Webcameron, British Tory leader David Cameron’s all web 2.0ey youtuby effort. Just after a quick clickaround, I’m going to say fair play. Staged or not, he comes off well on the camera. Who’ll be the first Irish one?

Real Time Rome is the MIT SENSEable City Lab’s contribution to the 2006 Venice Biennale, directed by professor Richard Burdett. The project aggregated data from cell phones (obtained using Telecom Italia’s innovative Lochness platform), buses and taxis in Rome to better understand urban dynamics in real time. By revealing the pulse of the city, the project aims to show how technology can help individuals make more informed decisions about their environment. In the long run, will it be possible to reduce the inefficiencies of present day urban systems and open the way to a more sustainable urban future?
Incredible. This is the future. Real Time Rome. Found via stunned.

I suppose I should say this probably should not be viewed by anyone ever. Bare in mind we live in a democratic society, and artistic freedom of expression is extremely important. Browse the site, read the interviews, mull it over, and then judge. This guy has, by the way, done album covers from Deicide to Venetian Snares, to name but a few.
So consider yourselves warned. Extremely graphic and offensive art. The link in question is Baby Art. It’s the work of artist Trevor Brown. Wikipedia says:
Though presently living in Japan, Trevor Brown is an English artist from London whose work explores paraphilias, such as pedophilia, BDSM, and other fetish themes.
Over the weekend have a look at this excellent piece. I love it when I hear a song and think of a film.

Its total Hasselhoff overload this weekend. The Hoff will be appearing on tomorrow’s Tubridy Tonight show on RTE 1 to pimp his new book.
He’ll be signing copies of it at Eason’s on O’Connell Street on Sunday at 1pm, as previously mentioned on TCAL.
The Hoff is also to receive honourary patronage of Trinity College Dublin’s philosophical society on Saturday.
Hasselhoff also co-stars in Adam Sandler’s latest film, “Click” which opens this weekend too.
Full story at RTE.
More Hoff than you can shake a stick at previously on TCAL.

US church installs an ATM for auto-donating to the church.
Baker came up with the kiosk idea a couple of years ago. He had just kicked off a $3-million building drive, but noticed that few people seemed to keep cash in their wallet anymore for the collection bag.
So he began studying the electronic payment business. He designed his machine with the help of a computer programmer who attends Stevens Creek, and found ATM companies willing to assemble it for him. In early 2005, he introduced the first machine at his church.
Since then, kiosk giving has gradually gained acceptance among his upper-middle-class flock. The three kiosks are expected to take in between $200,000 and $240,000 this year — about 15% of the church’s total donations.
“It’s truly like an ATM for Jesus,” Baker said.
Wonderful. LA Times story.
…starting next spring, MLS will be the first major team sports league in the U.S. to showcase ads where viewers can’t miss them: on the fronts of player jerseys.Aside from Nascar, no major American sports league permits prominent advertising on team jerseys, though the practice has long been accepted in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The MLS deal allows clubs to sell their own jersey rights and keep a majority of the revenue, a marked change for the 11-year-old league, which in the past has conducted most of its business through a central office and pooled sponsorship dollars.
Bizarre to think of it, with their advertising spinning along the sides/bottoms of screens, that the major leagues hadn’t explored this before. Full story.

Guitar Hero II is officially making the jump to the Xbox 360. RedOctane and Activision announced today at X06 that the rumors were true — the power of the guitar shall no longer be confined to a single console.
With the newly announced X-plorer guitar controller designed for the 360 (we wanna know, is it wireless?), the hard drive and Xbox Live Marketplace, this game is a match made in heaven for this system. Future downloadable songs, new bass and rhythm tracks, the mind just reels.
Will we be able to one day jam with Drum Hero, Guitar Hero, Microphone Hero, and Keyboard Hero, and everyone on their own wireless instrument? Dare to dream.
That guitar controller looks cool Thanks Si.
STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) - Ireland should host the UEFA Cup final in 2010 if the rebuilding of its Lansdowne Road stadium in Dublin is completed on time, the CEO of European football’s governing body said on Thursday.
Full Story Personally I wouldn’t be too confident on this happening in 2010. It will take that long to build 6km of luas track, let alone a brand new stadium.
