September 11th 2001 911 phone call with Kevin Cosgrove
Warning: This is one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen on the internet. It’s a recording of a 911 phone call with a man stuck on the 105th floor of the South Tower. Please be aware that you may find this extremely upsetting and difficult to watch.
Read more about Kevin Cosgrove here. Related BBC story from April which is when the audio became available. via metafilter, where the comments are worth reading as they discuss whether this sort of material should be posted.

Yay, Lara Croft in Ireland!
Feshti's back and this time he's counting down the top 10 movie opening scenes of all time.
Is American opinion and culture crowding out all others?
Megabucks disaster movies are entertainment. This tells us what the real thing is. RIP Kevin and all the other victims.

This actually tells us a lot about corporate america though.
This guy is a vice president of a major international company. He has a corner office on the top floor of the WTC.
Yet he doesn’t start leaving the building when WTC1 gets hit.
Not exactly playing the genus edition here.

If you listen.. it’s not his office.. it’s just an office he and a couple others went to probably to escape the fire.

” Not exactly playing the genius edition here.”
Well, he headed downstairs several floors before his way was blocked. Realizing he could not get out that way he headed back up, away from the increasing smoke, as far as he could get before being blocked again. Then he made his final phone calls.
Just what would you have done otherwise? Jumped with an umbrella like you see in the cartoons?
Funny how the slowest on the uptake end up calling others stupid. I’m betting a guy who calls himself slutmonkey is not in demand as a tire repair mechanic, let alone as a leader in a large corporation.

i think slutmonkey’s point was that the people in WTC2 should have been evacuating the building as soon as WTC1 was hit.

Doesn’t exactly take a genius to work out that “hey, I’m a huge skyscraper on the top floor, and the building next door has just exploded… Hmm… What to do… what to do…. Hmmm……
I know! Wait until the last minute them whinge at the emergency services for not getting straight up those stairs!”
Comment by slutmonkey57b — August 3, 2006 @ 2:12 pm
Also, it doesn’t take a genius to realise that smoke and fire rises, and that going UP a skyscraper to get away isn’t going to work, is it?

Slutmonkey is VERY slow on the uptake.
He headed down before being forced back up, and then went for the roof (breathable air, evacuation). You are just looking to badmouth a victim because you have such a miserable life. The proof is in your own words here. What a scumbag way to talk about a 9/11 victim.
And just to point out the logical extension of your ranting about how dumb corporate executives must be, there were many blacks and hispanics that didn’t get out either. So slutmonkey concludes that blacks are just ignorant and hispanics plain stupid.
My guess is that a slug like you just hates everybody and thinks that a dead person is a soft target for his hate.
See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya!

maybe he was waiting on the lift? I’d say it would take a while for it to get up 100 flights or whatever it is. Anyway who’d have thought a 2nd plane would fly into the other tower, not that he should’ve stayed but I’d say you get caught up looking at whats just happened across the way instead of heading straight for the door…

Slow on the uptake?
If you listen to the tape again, you’ll hear the victim berating the emergency services for not being right with him - as though it’s their fault he’s trapped.
Let’s stick to the man’s own comments:
“What the hell happened?”
Uhhhh looks like there was a big explosion next door. Hmm. could be a bomb or something. I think I’ll get out.
“They’re trying to get to you sir”
“It doesn’t feel like it”
Yeah - clearly I’m the one slow on the uptake here.

I think being in that situation is very hard.
He did sound a little rude but imagine yourself in that situation. I am a paramedic and people scream at us all the time bacuase they think we are not going to get there.
His situation is different he is running out of breath…
What would you have done?

Clearly explosions in the audio. I have no doubt. Several series of charges before the connection was lost. This kind of evidence should be released. It may be shocking to hear or see, but it is what happened, it’s the truth. We cannot hide from it, it was terrible. What’s more terrible is that no one was held accountable and the explanations provided by the official 9/11 conspiracy report has too many holes in it. I am so tired of having terror thrown in our faces to justify every absurd law and assault against the constitution and the bill of rights. The war on terror can never be won. There will always be some crackpot that will blow themselves up in the name of the cause. The only way to stop that would be to live in a complete police state, I won’t live that way. Do yourselves a favor and search Google, yahoo, or Youtube for: JFK Speech on Secret Societies and Freedom of the Press. He is warning of an administrations use of that kind of event (9/11) to expand its power. He is also asking mass media to help the American people in keeping government honest.
In conclusion, if the building was experiencing a structural failure as was reported by the official 9/11 conspiracy report, due to metal fatigue caused by fires, the he would have been more frantic than he was. Beams would be “melting”(jet fuel is not capable of reaching those temperatures, but anyway…), buckling and shifting. Concrete would be crackling and popping. His only concern was the one explosion he mentioned and the smoke. When I hear that poor soul it kills me that it took over a year, 411 days to be exact, to start the official 9/11 conspiracy commission. They were only given 600,000 dollars at first, and then was upped to 14 million. Someone needs to be accountable for the death of Kevin and all of the other people that died that day. To this day no one has. Where is Osama?

Shame Tim wasn\’t swabbing the floors at Windows on the World on 9/11.

Tim is a fucking ass hole. How can you think this is funny. This truely is one of the most disturbing videos on the web. I actually can’t believe that someone would be sick enough to choreograph this video with a 911 call.

That’s not the tim that posts here by the way…
