Coulters attack against Liberal media bias may be disconcerting, but at least in response there are open minded people (such as Dodger -June 28 2006) who are able to make sweeping generalizations enlighten us about what is wrong with the US.

Unfortunately right now you can't put the words sensible and American in the same sentence too often. There is a huge ratio of " stupid:less stupid " people in America at the moment and the millions who have bought that idiot's book have enough influence in America to fuck things up for everyone. Someone oughta put a mussel on that queef.

Isn't complacency the liberal ethos though? Like live and let live. It's as if people like Coulter are tolerated because of this.

I don't agree that Paxman could have done better. I think he did fine. He asked sensible questions. She replied ridiculously. Any sensible person can see that. The only way he could have done better is to not have interviewed her. What are you supposed to say to a troll? This woman is trolling. And she's getting rich from it - which I suspect is her main reason for doing it.

I don't agree - the complacency of liberals has led to a resurgance in the states of the power of the christian right. The more you allow people to present gibberish like intelligent design or "liberal media bias" unchallenged, the more legitimacy they get. Liberals allowed intelligent design and creationism to go unchallenged, because they assumed they'd won that argument long ago and only stupid people would support it - forgetting that the vast majority of people are very very stupid indeed.

Paxman could certainly have done better though.
