TCAL: Irish Graffiti Blog

Ha! That’s from a comment on the Indymedia post: Green Party stokes Graffiti hysteria and calls for repressive measures. TCAL is definately my favorite graffiti blog:

No doubt the ICN tagtards see this sort of graffiti and identify with it. Newsflash: You guys are cunts.

Cool. The war on grafitti is a good one, because those tagger gobshites are just making the entire city look stupid. The much less frequent ‘good’ graffiti isn’t worth the damage the majority are doing with their stupid squiggles.

  3. I guess this comments thread was the “Irish Graffiti Blog” part they’re talking about: http://tcal.net/archives/2005/04/08/icn/#comments

Fucking lame taggers. Want to see real graffiti? http://www.woostercollective.com/ Watch and learn! Look at Invader, Shepard Fairey, some of those guys are real artists.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Greens having a “war” on useless no-talent tag crews, as long as they left real street art alone…

  4. Graffiti posts account for approximately 0.003% of TCAL’s content.

  5. Hey Stephen.
I can’t help noticing all but one of your ‘good’ examples are Banksy. Here’s a nice quote from him which made me see ’shit’ tagging in a whole new light:

Twisted little people go out every day and deface this great city. Leaving their idiotic little scribblings, invading communities and making people feel dirty and used. They just take, take, take and they don’t put anything back. They’re mean and selfish and they make the world an ugly place to be. We call them advertising agencies and town planners… (taken from Existencilism)
