Google Sketchup

tim @ 8:12 pm

SketchUp is a simple but powerful tool for quickly and easily creating, viewing and modifying your 3D ideas.

If they could make us an online version, now that would be nice.

Have a look at the 3D Warehouse where you can upload stuff youve created yourself.

Google SketchUp.

  2. On the one hand:
Does Google really have to try its hand at everything?
    But…
I like their stuff. Reader, Picasa, Talk - all really good stuff - and gmail is the business.
When will they slip up? There’s better stuff out there, but not all at a one stop shop.

  3. This is a great program … I downloaded it a few weeks ago and had great fun playing with it. The price tag was nasty though, so delighted to see them finally releasing a free version.

p.s. this is not like regular modelling/rendering programs, it’s designed more specifically for designing buildings etc, you can’t do any fancy renders.

If you want a proper free 3D modelling rengering program I recommend Googling the following to start with:

    Blender
    GMax
    Anim8or
    Wings 3D
