Broadband speed increases 21st January?
Word (i.e. a post on the UTV newsgroups) has it that Eircom are upping the speed of wholesale broadband products on the 21st of January. The changes should be as follows:
> 1m/128k goes to 2m/256k
> 2m/128k goes to 3m/384k
> 3m/256k goes to 4m/384k
> 4m/256k goes to 5m/512k

Yay, Lara Croft in Ireland!
Feshti's back and this time he's counting down the top 10 movie opening scenes of all time.
Is American opinion and culture crowding out all others?
Really not too pushed about the 3 Mbit/s downstream I’ll get but the increase to 384 kbits/s now that’s what I’m talking about!
Of course even better would be 2 Mbit/s down and 1 Mbit/s up but a tripling of the upstream bandwidth is a start!

Indeed. Is there some technical reason why they are limiting upload so much? Or is it purely to keep us all in the consumers rather than producers mentality?
