New Irish TV channel launching within 6 months

danger @ 3:35 pm

News to me: Adworld.ie has a story rumouring that new Irish TV channel - Channel 6 - will be launching within 6 months.

The new station will offer viewers a broad entertainment package that will include comedy, music and movies. It is being specifically targetted at the 15-34 age group.

Update: Dave over at davesrants did a bit of poking around on this, turns out they have a wikipedia stub for the channel, and a web address, channel6.ie, which has nothing there yet.

  1. […] For the second time since Friday I’ve seen Channel 6 mentioned so I did a bit more research on it. First of all I head that they had received extra VC funding from ACT. Then TCAL mentioned a little more on it. […]

  3. A trotskyist slogan I heard at an anti-Vietnam War demonstration in London in the late 1960s: Kick your TV set in and make history. Confucius he say To be or not to be is Question, not TV or TV.

  4. Why did they just call it Channel 6? Channel 4 and 5 in the UK were given their names because they’d take the 4th and 5th buttons on the telly. If Ch6 will be on Sky and the other digital platforms, It’s gonna be in the middle of nowhere on the dial! Why couldn’t they name the channel something that tells you what it’s like? And why is the country’s 5th channel getting the number 6???

  8. Whilst Watching TV at 08.46 this morning and enjoying my breakfast i switched over to the station where MTV used to be to see advertisments for the new 6 channel. ive never been more shocked as to see some of the advertisments taking place at that time of the morning. i seen clips from new and upcoming shows but a few of these clips held reference to a violent and sexual nature, for instance I got to see a mans brains being blown against a wall a guy being shot in the head a guy being shot on the floor a body being examined on a morgue table and lots more i think its an absolute disgrace that there are children preparing to go to school after seeing this bull at 8 in the morning im sure the channel will be great when it comes along soon but they really need to TIME there advertisment for the the veiwing times suited to those who are watching. Regards clare
