Killinaskully cleans up at Christmas

danger @ 1:39 pm
RTÉ’s ‘Killinaskully - A Christmas Carol’ was the top rating television programme with Irish viewers across all Irish television channels this Christmas.

Story for that. I haven’t done exhaustive research, but the real way to measure effective Christmas television is the FOBTTFTS ratings.

The Frequency Of Back To The Future Trilogy Showings is the only scientific method to rate Christmas television. It includes all non-digital UK & Ireland television channels that can be received here. Basically, it’s:

number of back to the future showings / days off at Christmas = Christmas rating.

Days off at Christmas we usually use 24th December to 1st of January as our rating. You can get all complicated about it if you want and weight showings on the more important days eg. Christmas Eve, Day etc. but the important and frightening trend is a steady slide in the number of showings over the last 10 years. There may be trouble ahead.
