Google Usenet timeline

Google has released a usenet timeline dating back to 1981 detailing historic events such as Tim Berners-Lee’s announcement of the World Wide Web and Linus Torvolds talking about his new pet project. From 1982:

I wish Lucas & Co. would get the thing going a little faster. I can’t really imagine waiting until 1997 to see all nine parts of the Star Wars series.
